1. Introduction

PsychPrep (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data. By using PsychPrep, you agree to the terms of this policy.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account Information: Your email address and password (hashed, never stored in plain text) when you register.
  • Exam Results: Your mock test scores, answers, time taken, and unit-wise performance data. This is stored locally in your browser (IndexedDB) and, once cloud sync is enabled, in our secure Supabase database.
  • Profile Information: Optional name and profile avatar that you choose to add.
  • Usage Analytics: Anonymised page view and interaction data via Vercel Analytics to help us improve the platform. No personally identifiable information is included.
  • Device Information: Browser type and approximate location (country level) for security and performance monitoring.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and maintain the PsychPrep mock test service.
  • To save and display your exam results and performance analytics.
  • To send you account-related emails (email confirmation, password reset).
  • To improve the platform based on aggregated usage patterns.
  • To prevent fraud and ensure the security of your account.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your authentication data is managed by Supabase, an SOC 2 Type 2 certified database platform. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Exam results are currently stored in your browser's local IndexedDB storage. We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for advertising purposes.

5. Cookies

PsychPrep uses essential cookies for authentication session management (set by Supabase). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this will prevent you from staying signed in.

6. Your Rights

  • Access: You can view all your exam results from the Results page.
  • Deletion: You can delete your exam history from the Results page. To delete your account entirely, contact us at the email below.
  • Portability: Contact us to request a copy of your data.

7. Children's Privacy

PsychPrep is designed for postgraduate students (18+) preparing for UGC NET. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 18.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of significant changes via email. Continued use of PsychPrep after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
